We are so back.
If it’s your first time, welcome! This is Fetish Friday where I break down a fetish that you’ve voted for. Since it’s been a while, let’s do some light housekeeping.
Fetish Friday voting started on Twitter, but I’m not as active on there currently. I’m moving all blog promo and interaction to Instagram and Threads. To get things started, I put up a quick poll Wednesday night and the people voted. Voting for upcoming Fetish Friday posts will now take place on my IG.
Bondage: Physical materials applied to a submissive to restrain their ability to move and/or to otherwise restrict them. Also, the act of placing the submissive in such materials.
Bondage can be done with the use of rope, ankle restraints, wrist restraints, gagging (using a ball gag), or tape. You could even use blindfolds, ear plugs, and hoods to restrict their senses. Bondage is one of the more popular fetishes. From what I’ve seen being marketed to the general public for “spicing up” your sex life and in media (books/movies/shows/etc.) rope, wrist cuffs, and ankle cuffs appear to be the most popular methods. This post will focus on a few kind of restraints and safety. I will not be covering rope knots or technique. I suggest you seek out formal education on rope tying. I don’t provide that so I’ll be adding some resources at the end. Let’s get into it.
Popular Forms of Bondage
Rope
There are many forms of rope. Silk, cotton, nylon, rayon, polyester, synthetic fibers, and more. The rope you like is up to you. It’s important that you educate yourself on rope before you go around wanting to tie people up. The best thing about rope is that you can practice on yourself. Rope can also be used to create harnesses and knots for genital bondage.

Ankle and Wrist Restraints

You can use rope to create ankle and wrist restraints. You could also use handcuffs or wrist cuffs which are pictured here. These wrist cuffs could be attached to each other behind your back to create a hogtie position or attached to a bedframe.
Ball Gags
Your standard ball gag will look like the one pictured here. Ball gags are used to restrain physical movement of the mouth and speech. The straps are usually leather or faux leather with the ball part being made out of silicone, rubber, latex, or plastic.

Safety Tips
- Get some formal education on bondage. Find a class, search up videos on Youtube, read a few books
- Don’t practice bondage under the influence.
- Don’t tie rope around the neck.
- Have a safe word/gesture that all parties are aware of incase things are becoming uncomfortable or too much.
- Keep a pair of EMT sheers on standby. Never know when you’re going to need to quickly get out of/get someone out of bondage. You can easily find these online and your local pharmacy might have some as well.
- Never leave someone tied up alone.
- Be careful of TMJ and tooth pain/chipping when playing with ball gags.
Like with any other physical activity, please make sure that you are doing the proper education beforehand. Ensure that you are having conversations about consent, boundaries, and any injuries that you may have.
